The grand opening of Zumwalt’s Fort has been postponed!

If you were planning on coming back to see the Fort for its grand opening on August 15, 2015, we regret having to inform you that it will not be ready as hoped. We have experienced some unforeseen difficulties with the beautiful walnut doors and windows and, given the amount of rain we’ve had and the humidity levels, resolving the issue will take more time than the August 15 deadline allows.

If you had plans to be there and wish to come anyway, please know that someone will be on hand to give you the best possible tour that day, despite the incomplete status. You can also tour the Historical Society’s Log Cabin Museum that day if you wish to see how one of the last remaining logs was incorporated into the Museum’s fireplace, as well as the model built by Fort advocate, Raleigh Jessup. Please check back to this site for regular updates on our progress.

Thank you for your patience,
